Uddhav said – I am shocked to see heavy traffic in Mumbai, if it remains like this then hard lockdown will have to be imposed

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday expressed concern over heavy traffic on the roads of Mumbai and said that if the situation continues like this, then the state will have to impose a hard lockdown again. CM Thackeray said that the speech I made last night was investigated today. I was shocked to see heavy vehicular movement in Mumbai today. I was wondering if I said anything about the ban being lifted last night, but I haven't said so. If this (traffic) continues, strict restrictions will have to be imposed.

The Chief Minister said that if this situation continues, strict restrictions will have to be imposed in Mumbai. Thackeray was speaking on the sidelines of the trial operation of two metro lines and Bhumi Pujan of the elevated road in Bandra.

Thackeray said that once these are completed, these projects will further accelerate the pace of Mumbai amid the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The Maharashtra government has extended the lockdown-like restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of Kovid-19 infection in the state till June 15. The government had said that keeping in view the availability of oxygen beds and infection rate, it would be exempted.

Shops will now open in Mumbai from 7 to 2 pm

After the announcement of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the BMC has issued a guideline regarding the lockdown extended for 15 days.

All essential shops in Mumbai that are currently allowed to open between 7 am and 11 am have been allowed to open between 7 am and 2 pm.

Apart from this, all e-commerce in Mumbai will now be able to deliver essential items as well as non-essential items.

The shops of non-essential goods will open according to the day. The shop on the right will open on Monday-Wednesday and Friday while the shop on the left will open on Tuesday-Thursday.

This sequence will change every week i.e. shops which were open on Monday-Wednesday and Friday this week will open on Tuesday and Thursday next week. The shops of non-essential goods will remain closed on weekends i.e. Saturday-Sunday.

CM inaugurates 20 km metro route

Metro lines 2A and 7 i.e. the extension of metro in Mumbai for about 20 km was completed on Monday. CM Uddhav Thackeray flagged off the train for further progress. This metro will run on the route from Dahisar to DInagar and Dahisar to Andheri West. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar flagged off this train at Akurli Railway Station on Kandivali Highway.

Earlier, the trial was started in the first phase on the Dahisar to Goregaon East metro line. According to Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) Commissioner RA Rajeev, the trial will run for 4 months, after that after testing all the safety standards, the general public can travel in it from the month of October.

The dream of 'Mumbai in minutes' is coming true

MMRDA commissioner RA Rajeev said that initially the difference between the two metros will be half an hour. As the number of trains increases, this gap will reduce. After the start of the metro of both these routes, the metro network in Mumbai will be further expanded. At present, the metro is running from Andheri to Ghatkopar in Mumbai on this route.

When the metro will start running in other routes also, the connectivity will increase and where it takes one and a half to two hours to reach, they will take twenty minutes and the dream of Mumbai in minutes will now come true.
