3% of women in India and 10% of women in China suffer from heart disease, claims scientists in Lancet Journal report

Worldwide, the incidence of heart diseases in women has decreased by 4.3% since 1990, but cases have increased in India. 3 percent of women in India and 10 percent of women in China are suffering from heart diseases. At the same time, in Indonesia this figure is 7 percent. This claim has been made in a report published in The Lancet Journal.

The report is titled 'Lancet Women and Cardiovascular Disease Commission: Reducing the Global Burden by 2030'. Researchers aim to reduce 35% of all deaths from heart diseases in women by 2030. In 2019, ischemic heart disease is the reason for 47 percent of the deaths among women suffering from heart diseases. At the same time, 37 percent of the deaths were due to stroke.

Central Asia, Eastern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East have the highest incidence of heart disease among women. Here 300 women died due to heart disease per one lakh population. At the same time, the lowest death rates were in high-income regions such as Australia, Western Europe, Latin America and North America.

According to the research report, in 2019, 275 million women worldwide were troubled by diseases related to heart diseases. The goal of the study is to reduce the incidence of heart diseases in women. This is the first research report of its kind released on heart disease in women. It included 17 women experts from 11 countries.

Researchers have given many advice to reduce the cases of death in women. According to them, with women getting more health facilities, there is a need for early detection of the disease. Apart from this, along with educating them, there is a need to increase awareness through health related programs in more populated areas.
